Coordinator Opportunities
  • BEST PRACTICES PROGRAM COORDINATOR (3 year term): This coordinator oversees the Best Practices Program in order to facilitate the sharing of good ideas and new approaches within our membership institutions. You can also volunteer to be a Best Practices Program evaluator.
  • CONTROLLER (3 year term): The CACUBO Controller is appointed by the board of directors and receives direction from the CACUBO Treasurer. The Controller is primarily responsible for maintenance of the organization’s official financial records and the processing of various financial transactions.
  • CPE CERTIFICATES COORDINATOR (3 year term): The CACUBO CPE Certificates Coordinator serves as the liaison between NASBA and CACUBO membership in order to ensure proper recording, processing and certification of CPE credits.
  • DATABASE COORDINATOR (3 year term): The Database Coordinator serves as a liaison between CACUBO and NACUBO by assisting in the maintenance of netFORUM – the CACUBO member database maintained by NACUBO. Additional duties include: generating and defining mailing lists, collecting data for the region, providing data and reports in support of functions, and serving as a liaison with other regional database administrators.
  • REGISTRATION COORDINATOR (3 year term): The Registration Coordinator provides registration support and troubleshooting for all CACUBO professional development events.
  • WEBSITE COORDINATOR (3 year term): The Website Coordinator is responsible for overall content management on the CACUBO website, including keeping the information on the website current and accurate, and supporting the administrative and program efforts of CACUBO.
Committee Opportunities
ANNUAL CONFERENCE (Held in September or early October):
  • Description: Plan and organize CACUBO's premier event which provides the opportunity for industry practitioners to learn the latest and most innovative business trends occurring in higher education. Set up of the venue and the conference itself including functions such as registration, room set up, signage, marketing, food, and offsite events as well as decisions on the program including selection of general session and concurrent session speakers.
  • Term: 18 months prior to conference date
  • Time Commitment: 4-5 hours a month
  • Requirements: Make a site visit, attend virtual monthly meetings, and attendance at the conference (location changes yearly).
  • Travel: Paid lodging and other travel expenses incurred for all days for which the committee is required to be on-site and registration fees for the workshop.
ACCOUNTING AND BUSINESS WORKSHOP (held in April or Early May):
  • Description: Plan and organize a comprehensive workshop to offer professional development opportunities for administrators and staff of all levels which features a robust program on higher education accounting standards and practices for all institutions.
  • Term: 12 months prior to the workshop date
  • Time Commitment: 2-3 hours a month
  • Requirements: Make a site visit, attend virtual monthly meetings, and attendance at the conference (location changes yearly).
  • Travel: Paid lodging and other travel expenses incurred for all days for which the committee is required to be on-site and registration fees for the workshop.
MEMBER ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE:
  • Description: Managing the volunteer process from identifying, recruiting, onboarding new volunteers. Supporting the organization's engagement with CACUBO's members through various marketing and informational communication vehicles and channels.
  • Term: 2 years
  • Time Commitment: 2-4 hours a month
  • Requirements: Attend a virtual monthly meeting
  • Travel: Paid registration fee for the Annual Conference
LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE (Held in July or early August):
  • Description: Plan and organize a series of two immersive higher education leadership development experiences that rotate each year. Plans both the Leadership Institute (LI) and Women’s Leadership Institute (WLI). LI is aimed for all leaders and aspiring or emerging leaders in which aims to assist professionals advance their careers and institutions elevate their teams. WLI is a workshop specifically designed for women, regardless of current position, with leadership potential within the higher education industry and men who strive to advance the leadership role of women in higher education.
  • Term: 3 years with initial term starting about 12 months prior to workshop date
  • Time Commitment: 2-3 hours a month
  • Requirements: Make a site visit, attend virtual monthly meetings, and attendance at the conference (location changes yearly).
  • Travel: Paid lodging and other travel expenses incurred for all days for which the committee is required to be on-site and registration fees for the workshop.
WEBINARS AND DRIVE-IN WORKSHOP COMMITTEE:
  • Description: Plan 3-5 drive-in workshops within the CACUBO territory and a monthly webinar series. The workshops provide updates on higher education topics and are a great networking opportunity for local areas.  
  • Term: 2 years
  • Time Commitment: 1 hours a month; increased time when event is occurring
  • Requirements: Attend the drive-in workshop in your state(s) service area and attend virtual meetings once person month
  • Travel: Paid travel expense for all days for which the committee member is required to be on-site and registrations fees are paid
