Nomination Remarks:
"Very dedicated to CACUBO."

What inspired you to start volunteering with CACUBO?
CACUBO is a great organization and my work with colleagues who attend and volunteer with CACUBO has always been great. I was asked to help and decided it would be good to give back to CACUBO.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your volunteer work?
The interactions with my colleagues and the friendships made from working closely with a team of great business leaders has been the most rewarding aspect. The second most rewarding aspect is being at the annual conference and seeing the work come together in a cohesive and impactful way.
What is a memorable experience or story from your time volunteering?

I remember working with the program committee to determine the best presenters to come to the conference and counseling together as we watched snippets of their presentations with consideration of the different topics. We decided that a corporate magician would be fun, but also his message might resonate with our business officers. When the presentation happened, my coworker was randomly selected to help with the magic show and that was fun for both him and for me.

More personally impactful to me, though was the friendships I made with some of my fellow volunteers. I still reach out from time to time to these wonderful business leaders. We share ideas and also share encouragement during rough times. It is nice to get an outside perspective and having that network is valuable.

What do you enjoy about working in higher education?
The campus environment and knowing that our work is helping students learn, grow, and become better than before campus is fabulous.  I love being part of something that I believe makes a difference in our community, economy, nation, and world.
What hobbies or interests do you have outside of volunteering?
I enjoy playing music, tabletop games, and basketball. I also enjoy spending time hiking in nature, especially if my family is with me.
