What inspired you to start volunteering with CACUBO?
John Kroll, who was very active in CACUBO for many years, thought that volunteering would be a great experience for me; he was 100% correct. He encouraged me to get involved and build a network of university colleagues.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your volunteer work?
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to act in many different roles (St. Louis Workshop, Leadership Institute, and Annual Committees). I have always felt that participating in CACUBO offers a rewarding way to give back to the profession while building a network of personal and professional connections across various universities. I have met so many wonderful people. Some of whom have become great friends.
What do you enjoy about working in higher education?
I have always enjoyed the collaboration. I have friends who work in other industries who are amazed when I tell them that those of us in higher education connect with other Universities often to share ideas or for assistance when dealing with difficult issues. In many ways, the higher education community is like a family that is always there to assist one another.
