What inspired you to start volunteering with CACUBO?
Attending the CACUBO Women’s Leadership Institute was a powerful experience. I was inspired not only by the meaningful content and collaborative atmosphere but also by the remarkable commitment of the volunteers who poured their energy into making the workshop impactful.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your volunteer work?
Serving as Best Practices Chair has been incredibly rewarding. It’s given me a front-row seat to the innovative work happening across Higher Ed and the opportunity to build collaborative relationships that have stretched me professionally. These connections have not only helped me grow, but have also empowered me to bring meaningful contributions back to my university.
What hobbies or interests do you have outside of volunteering?
When I’m not volunteering, I’m busy tending to my own little ecosystem. I’ve got four teenagers, two dogs, a cat, a very content water frog, and more houseplants than I can keep track of. I love taking care of people, animals, and plants, and when I get the chance to step away from the chaos, you’ll find me outside hiking with my husband and soaking in the fresh air.
