What inspired you to start volunteering with CACUBO?
Being able to collaborate with like-minded business officers in higher education who are driven to inspire and mentor young and upcoming talent. People that willing to share knowledge and techniques in the field of Finance, both planning and operations.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your volunteer work?
I am volunteering with the hopes of advancing and fostering new professional skills. To feel a sense of purpose. To connect or network with a community that is not exclusively dependent on my 9-5.
What is a memorable experience or story from your time volunteering?
Traveling to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the 2024 conference was a very memorable experience. It was my first time attending. It took this moment for me to fully comprehend the reach and purpose of the organization. Seeing that many business professionals from different universities and colleges in the central region was very refreshing and informative to be around.
What do you enjoy about working in higher education?
I like that the services my team and I provide for our professors, lecturers, and other professional staff allow them to solely focus on the intellectual growth of our department and the university as a whole.
What hobbies or interests do you have outside of volunteering?
Normally, I would list playing sports, attending sporting events, or concerts when I am asked this question. But now I would say spending time with my siblings.
