What inspired you to start volunteering with CACUBO?
I started volunteering with CACUBO because Fran Willbrant was such a strong advocate for the organization. When she asked if I’d be willing to help out, it was hard to say no. Volunteerism has always been at the root of who I am.  I believe in showing up, pitching in, and supporting the professional communities that support us. So, between Fran’s enthusiasm and my inability to turn down a good cause, getting involved with CACUBO just felt like a natural fit.

What do you enjoy about working in higher education?
What I enjoy most about working in higher education is that the work truly matters. Every budget decision and strategic conversation ultimately connects back to student opportunity and institutional impact.

As a first-generation student, I deeply appreciate what college has made possible in my own life. It opened doors I didn’t even know existed, which makes being part of that opportunity for others incredibly meaningful.

I also value the relationships in this field - the collaboration and honest truth-sharing are unlike any other industry. CACUBO helps nurture that community, which gives me even more reason to stay involved.

What hobbies or interests do you have outside of volunteering?
Outside of volunteering, you’ll usually find me planning our next adventure — whether that’s a Scandinavian trip with a LEGO twist or exploring somewhere new closer to home.  I love discovering new places with my son and husband, chasing adventures, and building lasting memories together.
