Accounting and Business Operations Workshop (CABOW)

May 8-9, 2023 | Louisville, KY

The CACUBO Accounting & Business Operations Workshop is designed to offer professional development opportunities for administrators and staff of all levels, in addition to providing CPE credits. Attend one of the nation’s most prominent higher education accounting conferences to get the most out of your training.

This comprehensive workshop features a robust program on higher education accounting standards and practices for all institution types. Attend sessions on current, highly relevant topics and best practices in higher education business and finance, including the areas of leadership, data, analysis, tax, information technology, human resources, and personal development.

This program offers a rich environment to share knowledge and network with peers and delivers the same great content of past CACUBO Higher Education Accounting and CACUBO Workshops... all in one event!


The 2023 CACUBO Accounting & Business Operations Workshop (CABOW) was held on May 8-9, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky; home to the Kentucky Derby and the world's great bourbons. This year's workshop highlighted the following topics:

  • Ethics
  • FASB and GASB updates,
  • Fraud
  • Ransomware
  • Tax updates
  • Remote workforce challenges and opportunities
  • Retaining talent
  • Telling a financial story
  • Regulatory and compliance updates
  • Transforming business processes
  • Managing an uncertain economic climate
  • Navigating resource constraints.


CABOW attendees received up to 15.1 CPE credit hours. Sessions ranged from 50 to 90 minutes and CPE varied dependent on the length. To receive CPE credit, attendees needed to be present for the full breakout session.
